Our favourite products, advice and news on all things TMC.
Over the Christmas break we have been holidaying on the sunny Gold Coast. Sunshine, surf and sand. Each day I have to choose between spending the day at the beach or the pool. Big decisions!! So I really don't want to have to think about my beauty routine as well! After all, I am on holiday!
So here are my favourite products to get my beach babe on....
Sunscreen. Looking like a fried lobster is not in my vision of beach beauty. neither is the premature ageing caused by UV exposure. Go for maximum protection, especially on your face.
Tinted Moisturiser. A regular foundation will just end up an ugly streaky mess in the water. Go with a sheer tinted moisturiser that can be re-applied as easily as topping up your sunscreen after a swim without the mess.
Waterproof Mascara. Not normally recommended for everyday use but if your everyday includes swimming then this becomes an important piece in your makeup bag.
Tinted Lip Conditioner. Add a hint of colour and gloss while keeping your lips soft and kissable. Mine also pulls double duty as a cheek colour which lasts a little longer in the water than regular cheek products.
Bronzer. This can be a tricky one. Think high points. Cheeks, above brows, bridge of the nose and the chin. I use a small dense blush brush to buff bronzer onto my high points for a natural glow. If I want more definition then I apply a little extra on the underside of my cheek bones and around my hairline. Can also be used as an eyeshadow if you're heading straight out after the beach.
What I'm using right now...
Cancer Council 30+ Sport Sunscreen.. This is very light and milky so won't make your face greasy. It comes in a pump bottle, lasts 4hrs and is water resistant. www.skinhealth.com.au
Dermalogica SPF20 Sheer Tint. This is very sheer so not perfect if you want a little more coverage, but I love the glow it gives my skin and the added sun protection. www.dermalogica.com
Urban Decay Cannonball Mascara. I love love LOVE this mascara. I use it for all my bridal work. It holds up under both tears and boogie boarding. Only down side is you can't buy it in Australia!! Come on UD!!! You can get it with free shipping at BeautyBay.com which takes about 2 weeks. www.urbandecay.com
M.A.C Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF15. Fuchsia Fix is my colour but if you want something a little softer go for Petting Pink. www.maccosmetics.com
BECCA Mineral Powder in Dunde. BECCAs mineral powders are super fine and soft which don't look powdery on your skin and are packed with pigment so a little goes a long way. Dunde is a golden hue with a hint of sheen that makes your skin radiate. www.beccacosmetics.com
