Our favourite products, advice and news on all things TMC.
Ok so this video is not new but somehow I missed it first time around so thought I would share incase you missed it too.
Ending Animal Testing in the cosmetic industry is something we at TMC are rather passionate about. It is simply not necessary to test mascara on bunnies and mice for us to know that it is safe to use it ourselves.
The ABC's The Checkout put together this tongue in cheek segment about how the cosmetic companies are trying to keep us all in the dark. If you thought your favourite companies were cruelty free then you really need to watch this.
As always we at TMC will continue to try to source and use only cruelty free brands. But unfortunatly sometimes this line is a little blurry. Some of our favourites are OCC, Urban Decay, Yaby, Shanghai Suzi, Graftobian, Lime Crime and Paul Mitchell. While most of these are not your common department store or pharmacy brands, they are readily available online. Let us know what your favourite brands cruelty free are.
Sarah & Matt

Hair & Makeup by The Makeup Chair
It is such an honour when a bride chooses you to style her hair and makeup for her wedding day.
It's an even bigger honour when you have know that bride for over 20 years!! Sarahs wedding completes the family trifecta with me styling both of her sisters weddings as well.
Sarah and Matt are such a beautiful couple and their wedding was a true celebration of their love and devotion to each other.
Here's a little breakdown of Sarahs look.
Makeup. Sarah has the biggest blue eyes. She wanted a clean barely there makeup look with the emphasis on her already luscious long lashes. I prefer to airbrush all my bridal clients which gives me more control with building up the coverage. I'm LOVING Element2 which looks ahhh-mazing and once it's on won't budge through rain, hail or tears!! It was a ridiculous 41deg at the time of the ceremony this day but all the girls still looked fresh and glowing!
Hair. Sarah's' normal hair style is actually quite a short, textured and spunky do. I wanted to soften it for her day and give the illusion her hair was much longer than it is. By adding lots of curl and only pinning it softly I was able to create an 'up do' in her super short hair.
Is it bad to say that I don't really care? Only it's a bit hard to have an opinion when you haven't watched ANY of the nominated films!! I find motherhood and movies don't really go together...but then that's a whole other blog!
To me the whole Oscars evening is all about the hair and makeup!! I tune in to watch the glitz and pageantry of the red carpet and then turn my attention to Google to search out closeup images of makeup and hairstyles from every angle.
The clear favourite in the blogasphere has been Jennifer Lawrence with just the right amount of smokey eye. Her hair was twisted back at the sides and rolled into a neat low bun. To me though. Amy Adams was the epitome of a sultry and romantic bridal style. Her french roll was one of the softest and loveliest takes on the classic do I have seen in a while and the flick of black eyeliner and smokey bronze shadow really set off both her green eyes and strawberry blonde locks.
A couple of ladies really rocked a short do including Charlize, always faultless, and Halle, but Anne was the one who killed it for me by painting those gorgeous full lips lip with a bold pink. I often have brides say they are too nervous to try a bold lip because it will make their lips look too big! Well in a world where woman, and the occasional man, are injecting gosh-knows-what into their lips, take a leaf out of Annes book and go bold!! It looks ahhh-mazing!!
Both Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Rabbit (ne Chastain) nailed old Hollywood glam with their wavy tresses and Stacy Kiebler has demonstrated again why she has been able to hold Clooneys attention for so long. Her locks were rolled under and pinned for a romantic bob.
Well that's it for awards season 2013 but I'll keep my eyes peeled on the red carpet for more bridal inspiration throughout the year. If you want to know how to achieve these or any other red carpet look ask away!!
I was hoping to bring you lots more red carpet inspiration from this weeks SAG Awards and the AACTA Awards, but sadly there really wasn't much to be inspired by! My favourites at the SAG's were from Aussie girls Rose & Naomi who had tressed to impress vintage style, while closer to home, Gemma Arterton showed us that braids and hot pink lips can look sooo pretty. And that, really, was all there was!!
So, instead, I have rummaged through the world wide web to find these gems from Red Carpets past. Enjoy!
Bring on the 2013 Oscars!!
Gorgeous Jessica Alba.
Our bridal clients often look to the Red Carpet for style inspiration for their big day, arriving at their trials with pictures of Jessica Alba, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift or Eva Langoria. In fact the red carpet is the perfect place to look if you are struggling for ideas and at this time of year it seems the starlets Jimmy Choos are constantly glued to that most enviable of floor coverings!
Here are my picks from The 2013 Golden Globes.
